Postdoctoral Fellow on Regenerative Neuroscience: Adult Stem Cells for Myelin Regeneration
Pharmacological activation of postnatal stem cells differentiation at Stem Cell Institute in Cambridge, UK and Bellvitge Biomedical Institute IDIBELL, Barcelona, Spain.
One postdoctoral position is immediately available to examine the molecular events regulating differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) in the context of remyelination and axonal protection in mouse models of leukodystrophies. Our labs have a long standing interest in neural stem cells and postnatal neurogenesis (Cambridge site) and molecular dissection of pathogenesis of white matter disease (Barcelona site). We are well equipped with state-of-the art technology for molecular and cellular biology and for in vivo mouse studies. The successful candidate will also benefit from exceptional core facilities and a very collaborative environment.
Self-motivated individuals with a Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate must have a solid publication record and evidence of excellent skills in molecular and cellular neuroscience. Tenure-track possibilities under the Sara Borrell or Juan de la Cierva programs are available for top candidates (IDIBELL site). Previous experience with stem cell biology, mouse models, transcriptional regulation, or bioinformatics is highly preferred. Salary is competitive and includes benefits.
